The trail is lovely. There is a lot of single track through meadows and timber. A small amount of the trail is on gravel roads to get you to the next bit of trail. The 30 mile loop has a lot snowmobile type trails. There are sections that are naturally very rocky so some kind of hoof protection is highly recommended.  There are several natural water sources and four different spring fed water troughs and there are several places where water will be trucked in.
